What feels like walking through a trippy Van Gogh painting is actually Superblue Miami—an immersive art museum with a dazzling mirror labyrinth, light-based art installations, and evocative art displays by the world’s most creative artists.
The 500,000 sq. ft. of immersive experiences challenge the way you look at art. Even though the place can get quite crowded, kids and adults love exploring different sections of the museum, especially the one with the mirrors.
Introduce me to the artists
Es Devlin brings you Forest of Us, the most striking mirror maze in Superblue Miami. The visual symmetries of the bronchial tree-like structures pay respect to the very objects that help us breathe. This immersive experience begins with a perforated film, from which you can walk into the mirror maze, which seduces you to forget everything else and only focus on what’s in front of you.
Between Life and Non-Life is heaven for the hardcore fans of TeamLab, who have always thrived on the concept of a fragile and borderless world. This art installation is a masterpiece by many engineers, artists, CG animators, and mathematicians that helps you explore a relationship between yourself and the world.
Many other art experiences by experienced artists are on view in Superblue Miami, such as Pulse Topography, Massless Clouds between Sculpture and Life, and the Chronicles of Miami and Akhu.
How do I plan a visit to Superblue Miami?
The tickets sell out really fast, so make sure that you reserve them online. The whole art center is designed to be a one-way flow, so we suggest following this route to make the most of your visit.
Enter through the lobby, and the first art experience you will see is Pulse Topology. From there, you can see (our personal favorite) TeamLab’s experience, then the light experience, AKHU, and then Es Devlin’s Forest Of Us.
Once you have visited all the art exhibitions, stop at the SuperBlue Concept Store to take a piece of the art center with you. This concept store doesn’t require a ticket to enter and offers everything from books and artist editions to home goods.
Is there on-site dining available? Or should I head somewhere else if I am hungry?
Just like the creative art experiences, the cafe at Superblue Miami is one of a kind. Colors and patterns paint every surface of the cafe—a contribution by one of the artists—and the best of Miami’s food trucks bring you a rotating menu.
You can also find great restaurants near the art center, from fine dining restaurants to casual BBQ destinations.
