The exhibit halls, planetarium, and aquarium at the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science are thoughtfully composed, but it is the jaw-dropping 31-foot oculus lens that enchants every visitor. Not only that, but you can also see the sharks swimming above you.
Once opened in 2017, the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science is one of the most modern and grand science museums, built on the dazzling Maurice A. Ferré Park in Downtown Miami. With a waterfront location, there are sweeping views of the cruise ships and water that you can enjoy from the museum. There are four buildings – The Aquarium, the Frost Planetarium, and the wings in the West and North – and guests can move from the top of the six-floor complex downward while passing through various aquarium floors and exhibits.
How long does it take to go through the Frost Museum in Miami?
It takes almost three to four hours to go through the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science. The museum has stunning architecture and design; if you want to see all the exhibitions, it will take some time to figure out the layout. The museum can get crowded, especially on the weekends, and in summer, the kids come in large numbers to enjoy summer camps and exhibits. However, the staff at the museum is very friendly (helps you navigate the best routes in the museum), and the elevators are also a quick way to get around.
Do kids enjoy this place?

What about the gift shops? Dining options?
The Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science’s gift shop is as science—and tech-oriented as the rest of the place. Expect to buy a lot of museum-branded merchandise and books.
There are two cafes—Food@Science+Coffee@Science—and they are excellent places to put your feet up for a while. The setting is casual, the service fast, and the indoor and outdoor seating suits both parents and their children.
Tell me more about the Aquarium
The aquarium at Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science is a masterpiece. It brings you closer to the aquatic ecosystem of South Florida.
There are three levels in the building of the aquarium.
The top Vista Level has the 100-foot-wide Gulf Stream Aquarium, which contains 500,000 gallons of water and contains hammerhead sharks, devil rays, and different fish species.
This level also contains the lives of mangroves, coral reefs, and the Everglades. And anyone who visits this level cannot resist touching a stingray!
The Dive has sleek underwater marine animals roaming beautifully through the forest shadows, ocean currents, and corals. The 30 interactive vessels and aquariums allow for the most intimate observation of the ecosystem.
The Deep is the most interesting portion of the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science. Remember the hammerhead sharks that you saw on the top level? They now swim over you, as you can see from the 31-foot Oculus lens, which makes up the bottom of the Gulf Stream Aquarium.
