Daily marine live shows and a stunning South Florida skyline greet you as you step foot in this oceanarium, which does a fantastic job of providing a safe haven for killer whales, sea lions, penguins, cetaceans, seals, and dolphins. With fun activities that are also highly educational, the Miami Seaquarium entertains thousands of visitors every day who come with children to learn about marine life. Rehabilitation centers, conservation and care, interactive experiences, dining, and special occasions – this 38-acre aquarium in Biscayne Bay, one of the oldest oceanariums, has indulged visitors with its exciting and daring adventures since 1955.
Hold on! Tell me more about the ocean life
You can experience ocean life at Miami Seaquarium through two major activities: animal encounters and park events.
Animal encounters range from petting and meeting sea lions and dolphins to coming face to face with a ray or shark in a safe and natural environment, of course. The Sea Trek Reef Encounters is where you put on a diving helmet, walk through the tropical reef, and fish underwater.
Park events are a great way to teach your kids how to be more mindful of our environment. Many such events include Homeschool hands-on activities, Beach Clean-Ups, and S.E.A. Camp.
How is the crowd?
Miami Seaquarium is a family-friendly activity through and through.
There are plenty of field trips, exciting marine experiences, sea-dwelling dinosaurs’s skeletons, and educational programs. These are more than enough to attract half a million visitors every year!
Any special experiences or guided tours?
Many guided tours at Miami Seaquarium take you behind the scenes and offer special encounters with marine animals. A VIP tour is the most comprehensive and lasts two and a half hours. It allows you to get up close and personal with marine life, such as meeting the red-footed tortoise, feeding the stingrays, and interacting with the dolphins.
Tell me something about the dining and shopping experiences
There are lots of places to grab a bite at the Miami Seaquarium. Air-conditioned burger cafes, street food favorites spots, piping hot pizzas, BBQ, and soft gelato points offer everything for the whole family, from guilty pleasures to healthy eating.
As for the gift shop, we can say that it is a must-stop destination if you are looking to purchase a stuffed animal or T-shirt to remind you of this exciting activity in Miami.
